The Role


We are looking for a passionate Goalkeeping Coach - Early Youth Development Phase to offer a full time football training programme to elite youth players at our Hale End Academy and Sobha Realty Training Centre.

You will be entrusted to cover the full goalkeeping coaching remit, leading on an effective coaching programme for goalkeepers aged U12 to U14, delivering and developing performance pathways and plans to help create an optimum environment for our youth goalkeepers to develop and grow.

Your day-to-day


  • Design and implement crucial sessions - you will create and roll-out a diverse range of goalkeeper training sessions and an innovative general training and performance programme
  • Passionately coach our youth level goalkeepers - you'll manage all aspects of the coaching programme for our U12 to U14 goalkeepers
  • Manage pre-match preparation and opposition analysis - you will provide our goalkeepers with video and statistical data on upcoming opponents, including detailed penalty analysis
  • Deliver engaging classroom sessions - you'll proactively review training and match situations to further aid goalkeeper development
  • Drive innovation across our training programmes - you will take pride in generating fresh ideas and approaches and incorporating them into training sessions which challenge and captivate our goalkeepers, pushing them to excel and improve
  • Develop crucial analytical frameworks - you'll play a key part in the development of goalkeeper analysis in conjunction with our Football Analysis team
  • Support with player recruitment - you'll assist our Head of Youth Recruitment and provide them with insightful analysis to identify future goalkeeping talent
  • Unite with fellow coaches - you will work closely with our Goalkeeper Coaches at the Foundation and Late Youth Development Phases and make an impactful contribution to the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Partner with senior colleagues - you'll collaborate with our Head of Academy Goalkeeping and our Head of Academy Coaching to support a programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for the wider Academy coaching team

What we are looking for


  • Proven experience of coaching young goalkeepers - you have a track record coaching at academy or high level goalkeeper level and hold at least an FA Level 3/UEFA B Coaching Award in Goalkeeping
  • Passion for player development - you have experience of implementing, managing and monitoring development plans and maintaining an up to date understanding of modern coaching methods and strategies
  • Dynamic communicator - you're able to communicate clearly across a highly diverse range of audiences and contexts, adapting your style, tone and approach as needed
  • Champion of new technology - you proudly pioneer the use and integration of emerging technology and AI into daily workflows and processes
  • Inspirational leader - you possess a proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team of coaches with varying levels of experience
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills - you can coordinate and drive the delivery of support services (performance, medical, analysis, education and player care)
  • Trusted ambassador for our club - you recognise your responsibility as a representative of our club and maintain exceptional standards of professional behaviour towards colleagues, our community participants and the wider public
