The Role
We are looking for a Academy Sports Psychologist on a casual basis to develop and deliver the performance Psychology provision for the women’s academy at Arsenal Women Football Club.

Your day-to-day
- Be accountable for providing support to Arsenal women academy players, staff and parents
- Complete individual athlete psychological screening, profiling and use monitoring tools to identify areas of support
- Work with the academy player care lead to deliver the Arsenal Women performance Psychology strategy, and ensure there is alignment with player care and safeguarding
- Provide progress metrics that report all players receiving support to the wellbeing monthly meeting for the support given
- Contribute towards formulating individual development plans where needed, including multidisciplinary team processes, meetings and holistic athlete support mechanisms
- Design, deliver and evaluate individual psychological support interventions within the limitations of expertise, referring to internal or external specialist support where required
- Delivery of workshops/education sessions to players, parents and staff
- Regularly review the impact of performance psychology support across the women’s academy programme
- Collaborate with performance and medical staff to deliver on the Performance Services departmental strategy to embed performance psychology into all aspects of athlete support
- Ensure an aligned philosophy of psychological support across age groups
What we are looking for
- A degree in a relevant Sports Psychology subject and/or equivalent industry experience. (essential: BSc, desired: MSc or equivalent)
- Registered practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Current holder of British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Status, or British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) Sport and Exercise Psychology Accreditation Route
- Experience as a practicing registered sports psychologist
- Ability to provide psychological support to professional athletes to improve performance
- Previously designer and implemented psychological education and resources in an elite sporting environment
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic performance services to high performing athletes
- Understanding the requirements of elite and international athletes in a high-performance environment
- Able to create individual development plans with measurable targets and framework
