Associate, Corporate Strategy

Position Overview:

The Commanders Strategy department is a small fast-paced group that sets the organization’s corporate strategy, manages key business initiatives, and advises senior executives on all aspects of business operations.

As an Associate in the Strategy Department, you will work directly on all aspects of the enterprise’s business strategy and help solve the most complex issues the business faces. Ideal candidate will have a management consulting, corporate strategy, or business analytics background and is comfortable in a rapidly changing environment.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform range of ad-hoc analyses and financial modeling for key business initiatives
  • Create presentations summarizing key findings and recommendations for executives
  • Manage key strategic initiatives, collaborating with all business functions, including ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, marketing, F&B, CRM, etc.
  • Analyze the sports business landscape to advise key department stakeholders on both ad-hoc projects and long-term business planning
  • Monitor emerging trends within sports and outside industries such as live entertainment, hospitality, advertising, business solutions and technology
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive innovation, automation, optimization, customer experience, and financial performance across the organization
  • Serve as a partner to leaders throughout the organization to evaluate business opportunities; gather disparate information, organize thoughts, challenge assumptions, and articulate conclusions for broader consumption
  • Establish, measure, and review all business line KPIs to ensure corporate strategies are being met as well as tactical KPIs appropriately tie back to business line strategies
  • Evaluate process improvement areas in operating model

Qualifications (educational, experience, & basic knowledge requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in traditional strategy role; Preferred background in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy; Sports experience is a plus, but not expected
  • Excellent problem-solving & analytical skills, with ability to structure complex issues
  • Effective financial modeling and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a high degree of comfort working with senior-level executives
  • Proven ability to manage time sensitive projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
  • Experience in sports is helpful, but not a requirement
