Overview:
The Coordinator, Corporate Communications will play a key role in helping manage and implement communications strategies that achieve brand, business, and marketing objectives across internal, business, marketing and executive communications. The position will also be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations for the corporate communications department. This position will report to the Vice President of Corporate Communications.
Role location: This role will be based in our College Park, Maryland office, fully in-person with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the NFL season.
Responsibilities:
· Work collaboratively with business departments across the organization to create earned-media opportunities and help amplify team and league initiatives.
· Compose press releases and media advisories as needed and help pitch and secure regular coverage in trade, regional and national outlets.
· Establish and maintain relationships with local and national media members.
· Build and maintain a media distribution list.
· Serve as an onsite PR contact at events and on game days.
· Monitor team news across traditional and social media and create media reports for distribution internally and with key stakeholders.
· Assist in preparing executives for speaking engagements.
· Execute general communications support tasks and special projects.
Role Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Capabilities):
· College graduate with degree in journalism, communications, public relations or similar discipline
· Strong writing, interpersonal and editorial skills
· Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
· Highly organized, with attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly
· Candidates should be prepared for both on-site and virtual work
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
· Sports and/or agency experience preferred
Salary: $45,000-$50,000
