Youth Program Manager (Ice Hockey)

The Youth Programs Manager will be part of the planning, development, and execution of the NHL in Utah youth programs. This position will help develop and implement the strategic plan for youth hockey for the organization. They will be responsible for working with existing and future youth program partners.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build the short-term and long-term organizational plans for youth hockey
  • Develop and nurture relationships with youth hockey programs and stakeholders
  • Grow the youth hockey fan base throughout the state of Utah
  • Work with the NHL on league-wide youth initiatives
  • Work with parks and recreation partners around the state to develop programs and partnership opportunities
  • Build hockey development programs for youth of different skill levels and ages
  • Develop camps and clinics opportunities for youth hockey players
  • Work on planning, and execution of youth hockey events
  • Assist with Utah Jazz Youth events and programming as needed
  • Be a good teammate, contribute positively to a winning culture, and be respectful
  • Demonstrate world-class customer service and if you donโ€™t directly interact with the customer, support those who do
  • Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of the company
  • Be a student, be a teacher, be a leader
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working in youth hockey is preferred
  • Polished presentation skills with the ability to communicate with large groups and clients
  • Hockey coaching experience preferred
  • Experience programming and organizing large events
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize under a heavy workload
  • Ability to work all home hockey games and work irregular hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as required
  • Proficient in basic computer software programs
  • Clean driving record


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 25 lbs.
