The Head Coach, MLS NEXT Pro is responsible for developing and managing the overall performance of Sporting Kansas City II players, coaches, competitions and other activities related to team performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for day-to-day training sessions, including planning, preparation, execution and evaluation of sessions.
Daily management of Sporting KC II players, which includes, but is not limited to, individual and group on-field instruction, meetings, video review and providing a communication channel between players and staff.
Assist Sporting Kansas City’s player personnel department with roster management of the second team, player scouting, player development and transfers.
Assist with building and supervising Sporting KC II staff, coaches, trainers and scouts.
Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience playing soccer for a winning, high-level team required.
Minimum of five (5) years coaching a professional level team.
USSF A License and UEFA A License preferred.
Strong knowledge of current trends pertaining to training philosophies and tactical ideas.
Full and extensive knowledge of the rules of soccer and MLS roster rules.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
