The Director of Youth Soccer is responsible for all on and off-field aspects of Sporting Kansas City Youth Soccer programming, competitions, and leagues including, but not limited to tournaments, camps, clinics, early childhood programming, recreation leagues, and adult leagues. This role has no involvement with SKC Academy.

This position is a key contributor to the Youth Soccer team and is tasked with ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: โ€œWe create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.โ€

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Effectively manage the Youth Soccer team which consists of seven full-time associates and 60+ part-time coaches.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the 15 Sporting KC Academy Affiliate clubs.
  • Collaborate across departments to maximize revenue opportunities, fulfill contractual obligations, and create personalized, memorable experiences tied to the Sporting Kansas City brand.
  • Oversee all client and customer communications, providing exceptional and timely customer service.
  • Perform on-site management duties during programming (weeknights and weekends)
  • Manage the PlayMetrics registration system.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Youth Programs

  • Plan, market, and execute all Sporting Kansas City youth soccer programs, including, but not limited to: Camps, Clinics, Sporting Stripes (2-5y), Sporting Stars (5-8y).
  • Administrative and coaching support at all youth programs. Lead in implementing overall strategy and philosophy of play for all youth programs.
  • Assist in planning the year-long youth programs calendar by scheduling dates, securing locations, dates, and cost of programs.
  • Responsible for handling specific camp facility contracts; purchasing and maintaining all equipment and retail inventory related to youth programs.
  • Design and execute soccer curriculum for all programs.
  • Manage clinic requested from various internal departments.

Competitions

  • Manage and execute all competitions (tournaments, adult leagues, rec leagues), ensuring a world-class environment that supports player, coach, & referee development, while delivering a fun & memorable experience for all attendees
  • Assist in creating the year-long calendar of competitions
  • Manage and develop relationships with internal and external youth soccer clubs
  • Build on existing and create new programming
  • Cultivate relationships with coaches, managers, participants and participant families

MATCH DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full-time associates act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.
  • Support Youth Soccer initiatives and brand engagements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years working in the youth soccer space
  • Strong soccer knowledge and demonstrated skills, coaching licenses and/or playing experience required.
  • Capacity to adapt to the unique and vibrant Kansas City market.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
