Position Summary:
The Seattle Kraken is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Planning Analysis who is proactive, driven, curious, and passionate about pursuing a career in the sports industry. The ideal candidate will have the desire to apply finance and accounting knowledge acquired through prior roles to the unique challenges of financial analysis at a professional sports franchise. This position will report directly to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis and will support a variety of FP&A-related efforts, including but not limited to the following:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue reporting to the NHL for team revenue streams, including ticketing, sponsorship, food & beverage, and retail.
Support the preparation of key financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including the Team President, CEO, and ownership group. Key financial reports include board materials, reforecasts, budgets, and other ad hoc analyses.
Analyze historical data related to ticketing, sponsorship, and other facility revenues and incorporate trends to improve future forecasts and budgets.
Build, update, and maintain revenue models related to ticketing, premium, and sponsorship revenue streams.
Assist with design and maintenance of financial reporting in Anaplan, Seattle Kraken’s FP&A software, and become a subject matter expert in the Anaplan software. This includes operating existing modules to support the Finance & Accounting team’s budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close processes, and building new models to create efficiencies with internal board reporting, external hockey-related revenue reporting, revenue recognition, expense allocation, and financial statement audits.
Create new and revise existing forecasts based on actuals and changes in the business landscape as needed.
All other duties assigned.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or quantitative field is required; MBA preferred
3-5 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis, public accounting, management consulting, or investment banking
Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Anaplan a plus (financial reporting software)
Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
General knowledge of sports business or prior industry experience
Ability to learn quickly, open to change, and enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
Strong organizational skills, great attention to detail, ability to communicate and collaborate with varying levels of employees and management

Compensation:
In accordance with Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the starting salary range for this role is $105,000 to $120,000. The full salary band for this level is $105,000 - $135,000. Actual base pay will depend on employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Working Conditions:
This role is based on-site in our Seattle office and requires work to be performed in person. However, we do value flexibility as the business will allow, and offer occasional opportunities to work from home.
Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
