Academy Goalkeeper Coach

SUMMARY

The Academy Goalkeeper Coach will work, in coordination with the Academy Director of Coaching, to develop student-athletes in successful skills and techniques regarding goalkeeping. The ideal candidate for this position must be positive and committed to player development and success.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Attend and run all RSL academy goalkeeper sessions.
• Attend all academy games and run pre-game goalkeeper warm-ups.
• Responsible for pre-academy training and programming.
• Film and analyze goalkeeper sessions throughout the week.
• Develop and implement individual development plans for all academy goalkeepers.
• Assist Real Monarchs GK coach multiple times a week to execute training and high-potential GK IDPs.
• Assist Real Salt Lake goalkeeper sessions when available.
• Report development and progress of goalkeepers to the Head of Goalkeeping.
• Scout players to the role or the recruiting structure as deemed by the Academy Director.
• Support the Academy Director and Head of Goalkeeping in all aspects to develop professional players at the highest levels and with high potential sale value.
• Assist in creating and implementing individual development plans for Club developmental players.
• Assist the Academy Director in fostering and inspiring a culture of accountability for holistic development (Academics, Citizenship, Soccer)
• Assist in developing young men who have the required empathy, critical thinking skills, and good nature to be able to enter the world as people capable of solving real-world problems.
• Regularly mentor and assist in mentoring the developmental player pool and high potential players on their comprehension and implementation of all requirements to be a committed and successful professional – in both on and off-field capacities.
• All other duties as assigned by the Academy Director and Head of Goalkeeping.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• USSF B License required
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check
• Previous experience training and developing youth goalkeepers.
• Strong teaching background
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• USSF A License Preferred
• English/Spanish is preferred but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 100 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
