Director, Premium Sales and Service

The Pittsburgh Penguins are seeking to hire a Director, Premium Sales and Service, responsible for implementing a strategic sales and rep development process to generate premium revenue and build a fun, inclusive, sales culture. The position oversees premium sales activities, including providing training and development to enable consultants to achieve revenue goals. The role has a strong emphasis on growing premium sales revenue through recruiting, developing and maintaining a full staff in order to achieve the department’s goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee development and execution of premium strategy and initiatives for club seats, non-hockey premium seating, and all other premium related products
  • Design and execute multi-step new business strategies and prospecting sales campaigns
  • Create a world-class year-long premium service engagement strategy to maximize client touchpoints, loyalty, renewals, and extensions
  • Coordinate with key internal stakeholders to develop premium hospitality specific communication and marketing plan
  • Annually review and align product mix to reflect market adjustments and industry best practices
  • Maintain accurate information within internal systems to ensure accurate reporting, information, data, ROI, etc.
  • Proactively assess, identifying, and implementing sales and service enablement platforms to boost staff efficiency and production
  • Plan the premium game day engagement strategy
  • Effectively manage and develop the premium sales and service staff
  • Establish measurable goals, benchmarks, and metrics to define success for the premium sales and service team
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop a recruiting and retention plan to create a diverse and inclusive premium sales and service team
  • Effectively elevate direct report skill-sets through ongoing and consistent training and career development strategies
  • Create and execute ongoing feedback program including but not limited to individualized one-on-ones, pipeline meetings, group skill development opportunities, and performance appraisals throughout the year.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Previous management experience
  • Presents self in a professional manner and has the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and outside contacts
  • Interpersonal skills – ability to maintain confidentiality, active listener, and willing to try new things

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility – adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to handle frequent changes
  • Dependability
  • Ability to work irregular and long work hours
  • Required to attend all home games and as assigned team and non-hockey events
  • Ticketmaster/Archtics, Microsoft Dynamics CRM ticketing systems experience a plus
  • At least 3-5 years of sport sales experience and 1-2 years of management experience preferred
