POSITION SUMMARY:

The Phillies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional who will be responsible for leading the Accounting department. This position will be responsible for a wide variety of finance and accounting duties including reviewing reconciliations and journal entries to the general ledger, monthly account analysis review, review of invoices and completing reports. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly organized, eager to learn, self-motivated and devoted to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for performing and overseeing a variety of general accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue and expense accounting. Includes preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries into the general ledger and preparation and review of support for annual audits.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Manage direct reports, provide guidance, support, and ongoing performance evaluations to ensure their professional development and success in their roles.
  • Maintain accounting records for all work completed in an orderly functional manner.
  • Review general ledger account analysis and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
  • Understand the inner workings and policies of the company.
  • Perform special projects, when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including supervisory and a combination of public and private accounting experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Sage Intacct experience preferred but not required.
  • ·Strong financial acumen and expertise in financial planning and analysis.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to utilize strong analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Ability to thrive and work collaboratively in a team environment while often working independently.
  • Strong communication skills; highly organized, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Comfortable within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
