The Assistant Manager, Security Operations will provide a high level of operational support to the Security Operations Manager for all aspects of security at BayCare Ballpark. This role will support the Manager’s efforts for a safe and secure environment for visitors, employees, and vendors of The Phillies Florida operations by establishing the protocols set forth to monitor and enforce safety and security policies, plans and procedures in a manner which promotes an excellent guest experience, encourages repeat business, and protects brand and property assets.

A qualified candidate will have the keen ability to prioritize and execute tasks involved in the job description and exercise problem solving aptitude in a dynamic environment. Candidates must be willing to work event-based hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as the ballpark’s schedule requires.

This position will be located on-site at the BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, FL.


  • Supervise & communicate security policies and procedures to the security staff during games and special events.
  • Manage the Security Operations Coordinator.
  • Manage 15-20 year-round part-time security employees.Manage approximately 40 part-time game day security employees.
  • •General day to day security operations around the ballpark
  • Oversight of activities and duties of the coordinator of security
  • Create and submit an after-action summary for all adverse events, or incidents of note to the Security Manager.
  • Assist security manager to create and implement operations plan for all special events.
  • Assist security manager to create / update all sop’s, “general orders” or policies for all security employees.
  • Assist in creating topics and agendas and in-service training of security personnel.
  • Assist and maintain all security inventory, identify any equipment needs and submit it to Security Manager.
  • Oversee routine training and scheduling of all shift assignments to ensure proper personnel staffing. Assist manager of security in the review & implementation of all directives from MLB, MiLB and Phillies Florida LLC.
  • Ensure either directly or through the coordinator that all new information is disseminated to security personnel in a timely manner.
  • Maintain close collaboration with the Security Manager relative to the above and ensure that the Security Manager is updated regarding all security operations.
  • Act as Security Manager in his / her absence.
  • All other duties as assigned by direct report.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Five (5) or more years working in the building security industry, sports/entertainment venue preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience in law enforcement, strategic planning and/or operations for public safety, security, or military operations preferred
  • Must possess Leadership skills with the ability to partner with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing security programs from policy to operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft-based software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with video surveillance systems and access control systems.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends
