Summary:
The Latin America S&C Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the New York Mets’ Dominican Academy S&C program as well as assisting the S&C Coordinator with player programming, S&C staff oversight and mentorship at the FCL level. This position is responsible for the professional development of the Mets Dominican Academy S&C Coaches and must ensure that the DR S&C function is closely integrated with Performance and Player Development staff across all relevant functions (e.g., AT, PT, Nutrition, Performance Technology, coaches). This position is also responsible for ensuring smooth player transition from the Dominican Academy to the FL Complex and that the approach to athletic development in the DR is an extension of the philosophy and approach of the broader Performance Department. The Latin America S&C Coordinator plays a critical role developing training habits, improving body composition, and driving performance improvement among players at the earliest stages of their development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, Physiology, or related degree
NSCA CSCS, RSCC, and CPR/First Aid certification
Experience working with teams/athletes in high-level sports (Professional sports, Division I athletics)
Competent with performance programming and coaching linear/multidirectional movement skills
Proven track record of developing performance programs for the demands of the sport and long term athletic development.
Experience with developing aerobic and anaerobic energy system development programs
Evidence of continued applicable professional development and education (Workshops, accreditations, certifications, etc.)
Excellent communication skills with coaches, athletes, and staff
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
Must be able to work unconventional hours
Experience with periodic player performance assessments and readiness monitoring
A positive and proactive personality with a passion for assisting others in achieving their goals.
5+ years’ full-time experience in a similar Lead/managerial role.
8+ years full time experience in Strength & Conditioning
Desired Qualifications:
Postgraduate/Master’s degree in a related discipline
Experience working in baseball (Collegiate, MiLB, MLB)
Bilingual Spanish/English
Familiarity with Athlete monitoring systems, force plate systems, athlete positioning systems, and load cell and strain gauge-based testing devices
Experience of developing coach education programs to ensure continued development of new and existing staff
Bilingual Spanish/English.
Experience working in baseball (Collegiate, MiLB, MLB).

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
