Senior Analyst, Compensation

Overview

The Senior Analyst, Compensation will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day administration activities pertaining to the Company’s Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits and Wellness) programs as well as responsible for analyzing data, conducting employee pay market reviews, crafting strategic compensation & benefit plans, and collaborating closely with the HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct various market pricing analyses to ensure employee pay and benefits are competitive aligned to the external market
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and HR Business Partners when evaluating compensation and offers for open roles
  • Assist with overall project management of salary review processes across all Departments
  • Review and propose the most appropriate job measurement mechanisms to underpin the reward infrastructure
  • Manage the process of job evaluation and grading, including making day to day recommendations on evaluation and grading within the MLS grading framework
  • Lead and actively participate in salary surveys, and monitor salary survey data to ensure compensation objectives are achieved
  • Manage vendor relationships with all Total Rewards external consultants, partners and brokers
  • Ensure the existing total rewards framework is communicated and understood by intended audiences
  • Educate and advise HR team in all aspects of reward strategy, reward principles, and implementation challenges
  • Look externally for market best practices by using surveys, internet research, forums, peer groups and processes to keep best informed of Compensation and Benefits practices and trends
  • Develop and continuously improve links between performance and reward, specifically bonus programs and pay
  • Collaborate and assist Total Reward Team with the design and implementation of new Total Rewards policies, and initiatives to support business objectives
  • Liaise with HCM Specialist and Tech team to enhance Workday Compensation and Benefit Module functionality
  • Assist in the development and creation of Workforce Analytics reporting with key HR team members
  • Manage Total Rewards projects as needed
  • Assist with day-to-day administration of Employee Benefits for both Players and the League Office staff
  • Further enhance Benefits programs such as PTO, Wellbeing, Woman’s Health and Working Family initiatives
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in both Compensation and Benefits functions

Required Skills

  • Experience supporting compensation and benefits for an organization
  • Experience with compensation analysis, market pricing and job evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential material
  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Effective, demonstrated communication skills-both verbal and written
  • Proficient in all computer software including Word and Excel and experience with benefit enrollment sites
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • High sense of urgency with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with HCM or Comp systems

  • Spanish speaking
  • CEBS or CCP/World at Work certification or equivalency

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $75,000 - $85,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
