Contract Length:
- Seasonal with the eligibility for renewal (7 - 11 months)
Work Location:
Responsibilities
- Communication with Venue Medical Director (VMD) regarding potential head injuries.
- Assisting in the concussion protocol process by providing additional information to Club medical staff through written communication and clipped videos.
- Be available for a minimum of 40 matches per season.
- Alert supervisor of any potential injury that requires medical attention.
- Fill out post-match form for each clipped video/incident or match if no clips were needed.
- Recognize visual signs of potential head injuries as outlined by MLS.
- Ability to work nights and weekends based on game day schedules.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from an accredited CAATE athletic training education program.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer (ATC) or sports medicine experience with equivalent or higher education.
- Current NATABOC certification.
- Current state licensure in practicing state.
Required Skills
- Understanding of head injuries and management.
- Recognition of on-field evaluations.
- Ability to clearly communicate written or verbal as it pertains to the observed visual signs of the MLS Spotter program.
- Ability to multitask.
- Excellent note taking.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of rules regarding medical for the sport of soccer.
- Knowledge of soccer competition rules.
- Previous experience communicating with medical doctors (MD) and doctor of osteopathy (DO).
- Knowledge of 8by8, HeadCheck Health, SmartSheets, Slack Excel, and other software programs.
