Overview

Major League Soccer’s Business Insights & Analytics is a centralized analytics function, supporting the league by aligning long and short-term strategy with data and providing impactful data-driven insights, analysis, and recommendations.

In this role, the Analyst will be a subject matter expert in Fan Engagement, building regular and ad hoc reporting and analytics across all aspects of Fan Engagement, including Ticketing, Social, Brand Marketing, and Consumer Products. This hire will report into the Director of Strategy & BI and is highly analytical, able to distill clarity from complexity, and naturally curious with a constant desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the organizational analytics SME for all aspects of Fan Engagement.
  • Partner with team and cross-functional collaborators to support Enterprise and Department goals driving data and metrics.
  • Leverage data and statistics to answer business questions and provide impactful insights and recommendations that help craft future strategic decision making.
  • Support team as needed with both long and short-term strategy projects including research, reporting, data validation, taxonomy, and presentation materials.
  • Build regular dashboards and reporting, and participate in multiple longer-term data and analytics projects.
  • Effectively communicate and socialize actionable results and findings throughout the organization in a simple and intuitive narrative format.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or similar domain.
  • 3+ years of experience in a quantitative analysis role (data analytics, data science, research, consulting, etc.)

Required Skills

  • Experience deriving insights from large data sources and presenting in a clear and concise narrative form.
  • Practical experience in a query language (SQL).
  • Practical experience in a BI tool (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Adept in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High-level of dedication to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written.
  • Capability to demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal direction.

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $58,500 – $65,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
