The Los Angeles Rams Analytics and Consumer Insights Team is seeking a motivated and talented intern to join our dynamic and innovative team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of analytics and consumer insights within the fast-paced and competitive environment of the National Football League. The selected intern will work closely with seasoned professionals and contribute to various projects that support our data-driven decision-making processes and enhance our understanding of consumer and fan behavior.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets related to fan behavior, ticket sales, marketing campaigns, and other relevant areas. Utilize statistical methods and analytical tools to identify patterns, trends, and insights that drive business strategies.
  • Consumer Insights: Support the team in conducting market research, including surveys, focus groups, and data mining, to understand fan preferences, motivations, and perceptions. Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations for improving fan engagement and enhancing the overall fan experience.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Create visually compelling and informative reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate complex data and analytical results to stakeholders, including executives, coaches, and marketing teams.
  • Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to develop analytical solutions and insights that support various business objectives. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to drive innovation within the organization.
  • Industry Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in sports analytics, consumer behavior, and data-driven decision-making. Share relevant insights and findings with the team to foster continuous learning and improvement.
  • Documentation and Process Improvement: Maintain accurate documentation of methodologies, processes, and findings to ensure data integrity and knowledge sharing. Identify areas for process improvement and propose solutions to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Other analytics and team duties as assigned.

Role Requirements:

  • Pursuing or completed a bachelor's or master's program in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, economics, marketing, business analytics, data science, or a related discipline).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex data sets.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holiday.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., R, Python, Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and familiarity with regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and data mining techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passion for sports, particularly football, and a keen interest in leveraging data and analytics to drive business decisions.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and actively contribute to team discussions and projects.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to work ~40 hours a week during the 2024-2025 football season.

Pay Rate: $16/hr. - $19/hr.
