Retail Graphic Design Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Retail Graphic Design Manager. You will be a part of a newly shaped LFC Retail marketing team whose purpose is to drive awareness, interest, desire, conversion, and retention across various LFC Retail sales channels, products, and services in the UK and across the globe.

You will lead, support and inspire a team of three designers in the management and delivery of a large volume of retail focused design/marketing assets required by the Club as well as working closely with various internal and external stakeholders in the development of our marketing content – ensuring its fit for purpose for the full marketing mix, our sales channels and their respective audiences.

What will you be doing?

This is an important role in the LFC Retail department that requires a creative individual with a proven ability to motivate and work with a team to deliver successful design assets. You will be key brand guardian and a stakeholder in the development of the brand forming strong relationships across the department to ensure what the marketing design team deliver is always optimised to set us up for success.

Day to day management and responsibility for the delivery of all LFC Retail marketing graphic design content. This covers the full marketing mix and our owned digital and physical sales channels.

You will project manage and plan specific projects, campaigns, visual gudielines and B2B assets including the preparation of briefs, scheduling, and tracking timelines, milestones and deliverables, ensuring they are on time and in line with our strategy and insight. Once a campaign has been completed - support in wrap-up reports to include any recommendations from a design perspective.

Work closely with sales and marketing channel owners to understand their audiences and what success looks like from a creative output perspective. Share previews of relevant campaigns and content to internal and external stakeholders to ensure they can plan successful support of the campaigns and their objectives.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Manage relationships with colleagues and creative agencies to ensure all stills, video and creative output are on brief and fit for purpose across relevant sales and marketing channels.
  • Ensure optimised assets, best practice and success stories are being delivered to the Clubs international retail partners.
  • Act as the product owner for all relevant retail focused asset management sites and sharing sites. This includes working with the team to ensure all rights holders and channel managers receive assets by agreed deadlines.
  • Be a co-guardian for the visual identity of Liverpool FC Retail. Playing a lead role with other key stakeholders in the evolution of our brand identity.
  • Support in the planning and management of relevant budget lines such as store windows, point of sale and print.
  • Lead regular team meetings and individual 1:1s. Help to upskill the team by developing team PDPs plans where applicable and conducting bi-annual performance reviews.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have significant design experience with a recent focus on Digital as well as people management experience. You will understand how to successfully use a variety of different creatives across different marketing and sales channels as well as a proven ability to research, compile and project manage to delivery multi-channel creative assets.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Highly skilled within Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and up-skill a team of designers.
  • Experience of gathering and presenting content, project plans and insights to key stakeholders.
  • Successful agency/stakeholder management.
