The Communications Assistant will assist the department in driving a strategic message and supporting programs that positively impact the Las Vegas Raiders. The Communications Assistant will report to the Communications Manager and should excel in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage the daily clips media monitoring program, compiling relevant news items from around the NFL and sports business for distribution to club executives and personnel.
  • Compile and manage a database of completed media appearances for Raiders players, coaches, executives, and staff throughout the calendar year.
  • Gather audio and transcribe quotes from press conferences and media sessions for distribution to the media and historical archives.
  • Monitor practice to ensure media and spectators remain in appropriate areas.
  • Support football communications staff with media credentialing at practice.
  • Assist with media set up and logistics daily for practices.
  • Assist in the press box on gamedays.
  • Support football communications staff with photographer/media check-in on gamedays.
  • Assist with stat distribution to various stadium locations on gamedays.
  • Setup media viewing areas at practice and in the press-box on gamedays.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 1-2 years of relevant communications experience, preferentially within the sports industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite programs.
  • Proficiency in social media applications.
  • Strong understanding of the media relations/public relations industry.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with football personnel as well as media at large.
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and competently to a variety of different audiences on a diverse range of topics.
  • Ability to create innovative and effective solutions to multi-layered tasks and problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of football-related statistics, analytics tools, and the social media landscape.
  • Ability to interact positively with individuals throughout the organization.
  • Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):

  • Sitting for long periods of time throughout shift.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25lbs.
  • Occasional walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
