The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional football team and a member of the National Football League’s AFC South Division. The Jaguars are one of the NFL’s youngest franchises, playing their first regular season home game on September 3, 1995 in Jacksonville, Fla., and have since won four division titles. Summary

The Real Estate Accounting Manager will develop control systems that drive consistent, reliable, and accurate assessment of the financial position for all construction projects. This may include early phase project budgeting, development of project cost program, cost report functionality, detailed forecasting methods, evaluation of cost changes, procedures for reviewing application for payments, and overall compliance to company financial requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the cost coding system with the construction management team and integrate within financial systems.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and real estate reconciliations.
  • Generate asset portfolio financial reports, including project cost summaries, cashflow statements, and budget vs actual variance analysis.
  • Prepare asset portfolio financial forecasts, identifying variances and potential risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during project audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Manage vendor contracts and payments in coordination with team, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, pricing, and payment schedules.
  • Collaborate with Tax and Treasury Management for cost segregation analysis.
  • Read and understand loan and operating agreements, ensuring completeness of accounting transactions and compliance with lender reporting requirements.
  • Work on special projects and ad hoc reporting as required.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Understands the importance of, and passion for, further development in Downtown Jacksonville.
  • Hard working self-starter able to work independently as subject matter expert, good analytical skills and be able to apply knowledge gained on assigned projects.
  • Proficiency in using financial management software, ETFP systems and MS Office Suite, able to quickly master new software packages.
  • Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and processes.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis withing the construction industry.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain accuracy while managing large volumes of data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial real estate/construction accounting.
  • Advanced Excel and accounting software required.

Preferred

  • Great Plains knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Knowledge of REIT rules and tax implications is a plus.
