Senior Manager, Cluster Overlay Scheduler, FIFA World Cup 2026

Reporting organizationally to the FIFA26 Inc. Senior Stadium Infrastructure & Overlay Manager, the Overlay Scheduler will be a key member of the FIFA26 Overlay team, and work in close collaboration with the Venue Design team and Overlay Infrastructure team. Alongside FIFA World Cup 2026 this position will be required to perform some if not, all of the responsibilities for FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Stadiums have ongoing activities prior and post FIFA tournaments – spaces and areas become available at different timings which requires precise scheduling and prioritization.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Overlay Scheduler for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ include:

  • Prepare, build, and create schedules for integrated delivery timelines within the Infrastructure and Technical Services department for all related workstreams and deliverables.
  • Integrate Procurement, Mobilization Coordinator and Supplier Management schedules.
  • Identify milestones, regularly oversee and update project schedules collaboratively with each respective project team and where necessary Functional Area.
  • Perform schedule reviews to ensure effective and efficient best practices for a smooth and timely delivery.
  • Participate in all phases of the event delivery and construction planning and scheduling process. This may include the creation of proposal schedules, baseline scheduling and ongoing associated updates for multiple stakeholders.
  • Provide scheduling training for team members as needed to assist with updating delivery timelines.
  • Lead and/or attend venue team meetings for integrated scheduling discussions.
  • Prepare scheduling reports for various competition and non-competition venues.
  • Collaborate with the Stadiums, Venue Management, Stadium Management, IT, Logistics and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on venue timelines.
  • Ensure all FA requirements are obtained, captured, and processed in integrated delivery schedules as related to the build and delivery timelines.
  • Perform audits of schedules for performance to plan variance and support corrective action to improve scheduling and planning processes.
  • Managing the overall Integrated Delivery Schedule creating reports and dashboards of all delivery related activities in concert with FIFA’s procurement and delivery partner.
  • Liaise with appointed Overlay and Design Cluster teams to ensure regular updates of schedules.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other related domains such as having obtained a PMP certification.
  • Preferred understanding of the technical complexity of a stadium with additional World Cup needs.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Football World Cup Life cycles working or liaising with one or more Functional areas as listed above or similar elite sporting event.

Work Experience

  • Preferred 5 years or more in infrastructural projects or Overlay/Technical Service roles in Major Events for a Sporting Organisation and/or proven experience with scheduling complex projects.
  • Preferred 3 years or more FIFA World Cup or other similar major Football tournaments experiences but not a must.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of either event overlay or construction scheduling experience
  • Minimum 2 years of managing and leading teams and staff with different backgrounds and skill sets
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

Languages

  • Fluent in English
  • Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus

Knowledge, Technology and Abilities

  • Knowledge of sequence logic and ideally means and methods of construction management.
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prefer ability to recognize during venue site visits where there may be scheduling sequencing area of concern and where sequencing improvements can occur.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project)
  • Planning software and online collaboration tools: MS Project, Planner, Trello, Primavera or other Project Management Tools
  • Miro Board, Whiteboard
  • Ability to travel to host cities
