The Graphic Design Coordinator is responsible for the creation, design and customization of digital and print presentations specifically in support of the Detroit Lionsโ€™ Corporate Partnerships Team. This role will primarily handle the development of ideas and concepts into internal mockups and external presentations that support storytelling with concise, sharp visuals. This Designer must collaborate well while also having a keen ability to work independently to deliver results.

Additional responsibilities include prioritizing requests and needs from the broader Detroit Lions Marketing organization. The Graphic Design Coordinator must have a good understanding for the Partnership role within the organization and how the development of graphics, mockups will support the brand, departmental and organizational goals. This Designer will work closely with the Partnerships team to create presentations that deliver brand messaging, convey sales pitches and ideas for activation in and around the Partnerships space. This position must be able to balance strategic thinking with high output design in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Creative Director with a dotted line reporting structure to the Senior Director of Partnership Marketing & Solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop unique creative for sales mockups & presentations that amplify the customized story to be communicated to the prospect/partner.
  • Design infographics and translate data into actionable graphics and visuals.
  • Incorporate Detroit Lions brand standards and establish and maintain brand consistency into required outputs, leveraging logos, internal assets, conceptualizations and other collaborations as needed.
  • Develop template(s) for use by sales, solutions and partnership marketing team(s) in sales, recaps and other purposes as needed throughout the year.
  • Develop creative for external communications to partners (i.e. partner events, partner summits, draft events, etc.)
  • On an as needed basis, develop and design partner creative for contractual assets with Detroit Lions
  • Work directly with the creative and partnership marketing/solutions team (plus others as required) conceptualizing and developing creative for Corporate Partnerships.

  • Communicate with internal and outside print vendors for developing print-ready files, pricing, and approvals for each project as needed.
  • Manage workflow in an organized manner, being able to work on multiple projects at the same time.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands, including being available to work a non-standard schedule in support of international travel, football operations, events, and other Marketing activities, including holidays and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of employment as a creative professional; previous experience in sports/entertainment a strong preference
  • Must provide a design/work portfolio representative of a broad skill and creative set, inclusive of:
    • Presentation design (layout, content hierarchy)
    • Data visualization/Infographics
    • Typography
    • Photo editing/Compositing
    • Basic video
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign). Strong understanding of advanced PowerPoint design a must.
  • Familiarity with Digideck a plus
  • Needs to be able to solve visual problems with innovative solutions.
    • Must be a strong collaborator and communicator. Needs to have the ability to work as a team player to communicate concepts, brainstorm, self-start and pitch big ideas.
    • Must be able to take direction well.
  • Needs to be able to develop scalable design systems to stay within the brand across all platforms.
  • Ability to manage time on their own and prioritize projects simultaneously. Needs to bring dedication to projects both small and large.
    • Must be able to work within as well as integrate the Lions Brand Guidelines with the style guides of both current and potential partners.
    • A successful candidate will understand the โ€œwhoโ€ and the โ€œwhyโ€ of the Detroit Lions brand identity and will work to apply them throughout their creative.
  • Must have experience in large format and environmental design. Needs to be able to see ideas from mocking up concepts to implementation working with internal and external departments for feedback and approval
