We are excited to hire a Communications Assistant! This position will assist the public relations department in publicity related to the Denver Broncos’ communications efforts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the media relations department with day-to-day communication responsibilities by:
    • Supporting the football and business departments within the organization
    • Collaborating on departmental projects and initiatives as assigned, including writing press releases and contributing to weekly game notes
    • Developing professional relationships with members of the media
    • Helping with recording, transcribing and executing player interviews
    • Assist with press box and media will call management at home games.
  • Contribute to strategic communication efforts by:
    • Helping track, create, fulfill and distribute credentials and parking for media and staff
    • Promoting initiatives and assisting with events as needed
    • Serving as an on-site contact for business and community events as needed
    • Attending game entertainment meetings and promoting gameday initiatives through collaboration with marketing, sponsorship, and community relations staff.
  • Assist with producing and compiling departmental content by:
    • Coordinating the organization and distribution of daily executive news summaries
    • Contributing to the editing of the media guide, weekly release, flip card and other departmental publications
  • Performing administrative tasks as necessary

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, or a communications-related field
  • 2+ years’ experience (full-time/internship/graduate assistant) working in a professional sports setting, high profile collegiate level sport or related field.
  • Strong writing ability and knowledge of AP style
  • Experience transcribing quotes
  • Ability to work flexible/long hours (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays and travel) for work assignments and games

Preferred expectations:

  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and capacity to thrive in pressure situations
  • Previous experience working with a football team is preferred

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary for this role is $45,000 - $50,000. This a non-exempt position that will be eligible for overtime pay. This position will be required to work game days and/or events outside of a normal working hours as needed.

This position will be located at the Denver Broncos Training Center in Englewood, CO.
