The Charlotte FC Academy vision is to provide a high-performance environment for the most talented, high-potential young soccer players from across the Carolinas and beyond. Our mission is to inspire, develop and support elite-level players on their pathway to success in Major League Soccer (MLS) and at the highest levels of the game. Position Summary

This position, in collaboration with other staff, will lead the day-to-day coaching, individual player development and periodization in the Pro-Formation age group with the intention of developing players to success at the Pro Pathway level. Through well-constructed, age-appropriate training sessions, along with strong leadership and mentoring qualities, this position will work closely with all other Academy staff and report directly to the Executive Director of the Academy and Technical Director.

Primary Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties at a high professional level.

  • Create weekly, monthly, and seasonal periodization plan in line with Charlotte FC Academy curriculum and playing identity.
  • Organize, execute and self-reflect on daily training sessions.
  • Be proactive in daily/weekly planning meetings, share feedback and provide support for staff and players.
  • Attend all games and travel with Academy teams as required.
  • Occasional scouting responsibilities
  • Provide formal and in-formal player reviews at the direction of the club.
  • Provide video analysis for team and players.
  • Create Individual Development Plans for each player.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • USSF โ€œBโ€ coaching license (or equivalent) with previous youth development experience.
  • Excellent Skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have experience with video editing and presentation.
  • Must be flexible to work long hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel to away trips and events.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid driverโ€™s license to drive to team van during team travel as required.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the college or professional level
  • Experience within a high-level, age-appropriate development environment
  • Bi-lingual

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities
  • Prolonged periods of standing or walking
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle

Work Environment

This job operates mostly outside on athletic fields at times which may include inclement weather conditions. This position will often require travel to away trips and events.
