Purpose
Develop a Learning and Development Strategy with an implementation plan for the off-field staff at Brentford Football Club and so put in place the building blocks of a learning and development organisation. This will involve understanding the strategic plan, senior leaders’ ambitions and the talent within the Club.
Main Accountabilities
1. Partner ExCo (senior leadership team) to:
a. Understand strategic priorities and Club objectives
b. Gain clarity of departmental requirements
c. Identify skills and experience gaps in departments
d. Plan to plug those gaps
2. Research and identify L & D initiatives focused on aligning talent development with overarching business objectives, thereby propelling organisational growth and sustainability.
3. Lead a team of managers and heads of departments in the design and development of a Competence and Values framework. The outcomes of this practical and Club specific framework will feed into all elements of the employee lifecycle from selection to performance management and succession planning to employee relations issues
4. Produce a succession plan strategy with an implementation process that is realistic and practical to execute.
5. Legacy of this project to include:
a. L & D strategy
b. Identified, and in some instances, delivery of L & D initiatives
c. Commence the design and rollout of a competence and values framework
d. Succession plan strategy to be drafted and agreed
e. Full handover of practical, Club specific and workable initiatives

Person Specification - Essential Personal Characteristics
- Demonstrable experience of working at a high level with senior organisational leaders to develop and roll out a successful learning development strategy
- Previous experience of design and rollout of competence and values framework
- Previous experience of running a TNA I'm presenting findings to senior leadership
- Previous experience of detailed succession planning
- Strong communicator with ability to build relationships with people at all levels
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to deliver training to colleagues
