Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League’s 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC began competing in MLS in April 2021 and played its first match at home on June 19, 2021, in the new, 100% privately financed, state-of-the-art Q2 Stadium. Now in its fourth season, Austin FC currently holds the longest active sellout streak in MLS.

Austin FC is actively seeking an experienced, detailed, and high-energy Event Services Manager to manage the operation of Q2 Stadium to include custodial, janitorial, and other event needs. In this role, you will provide outstanding guest service, supervise the non-event staff, manage staffing plans for events, and assist as needed on event day to ensure the stadium is show ready.

This position will be based in Austin, TX and the role will be in-person at Austin FC’s Q2 Stadium.

You Will:

  • Manages all event day set up, tear down, conversions, and clean up and serve as an in-the-field quality control and quality assurance supervisor; and
  • Oversees and ensures proper set-up at all patron and staff entry gates including but not limited to, walk through metal detectors, crowd control equipment, signage, etc.; and
  • Ensure adherence to MLS guidelines as it relates to locker room setup and standardization; and
  • Assist with oversight of all event housekeeping and janitorial services. Ensures compliance with health standards issued by CDC and City of Austin; and
  • Create and manage staffing plans for all events as it relates to event services staff, housekeeping and other event needs; and
  • Assist in the development and oversight of the club’s Sustainability initiatives with a specific focus on Q2 Stadium’s zero-waste goals and strategies; and
  • Assist in ensuring all stadium events are prepared and set-up in compliance with all applicable local codes as outlined by Austin Center for Events; and
  • Assist in the creation of the annual operating budget; and
  • Manage service level agreement for stadium general upkeep; and
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and physical appearance of the stadium; and
  • Create daily lists of responsibilities for part time and seasonal staff to ensure proper set-up and upkeep of stadium; and
  • Conduct frequent building inspections and note deficiencies and develop necessary action plan for remediation; and
  • Assist in generating standard operating procedures for all cleaning and janitorial procedures; and
  • Serve as manager on duty for stadium events as needed; and
  • Assists Facilities and Grounds at the St. David’s Performance Center as requested; and
  • Process payroll for Event Services hourly staff. Closely monitor to ensure adhere to budget and bring attention to excessive hours.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years relevant experience preferred
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience within the sports and/or entertainment industry is a plus
  • English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets, and analyzing costs
  • Working knowledge of local codes identified by the Austin Event Center
  • Working knowledge of Fire, Life, Safety, EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, and ADA rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and must regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, knowledge of current technologies and commitment to remain up to date with industry best practices
