Kings University starts October 15, 2023, and runs through the 24-25 season!

Job Summary: The Stockton Kings are looking for an enthusiastic intern that is passionate about community impact and the development of high-quality work in fast-paced setting.

The Community Impact intern will serve as an integral part of the Community team and will be responsible for supporting the department throughout the 2024-25 season. The intern will assist in the response of community donation requests, support the coordination of the charitable ticket program, assist with community events/programs and perform all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Offering a hands-on and immersive experience, internships at the Stockton Kings are structured to provide an exceptional experience in the sports industry and provide the skills needed to jump-start your career in sports.

Key Responsibilities: Your role will involve collaborating closely with our Community department, prioritizing and managing projects such as Kids Club, Stockton Jr. Kings, and various community initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Work with Community department to schedule, prioritize and manage projects (ie. Kings 6th Man Program, Hometown Hero, Community initiatives & more)

  • Organize and track donations, inventory of memorabilia and assist in responding to requests and with distribution

  • Contribute creative thinking and support the Community/Entertainment departments on projects

  • Assist with events or promotions on nights and weekends as needed

  • Identify ways to improve the company’s community efforts

  • Assist in expanding the Stockton Kings database through community involvement

  • Provide support in staffing tables to promote community events and programs

  • Builds relationships with prospective customers via outbound telephone efforts and enhances those relationships through frequent communications

  • Offer a unique memorable experience for guests and exceptional customer service

Qualifications:

  • Applicable experience from internships, school athletic department, or school organizations preferred.

  • Must have strong writing and editing ability, as well as excellent communication skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize within a fast-paced team environment

  • Must be highly motivated, goal oriented, and have a willingness to learn.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate and engage with internal clients, vendors, or fans with a customer first attitude.

  • Ability to think creatively and have fun in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, nights, and weekends.

  • Ability to serve as an ambassador to community nonprofits and foundation contacts.

  • Ability to assist in planning, coordination and execution of community programs/ initiatives and theme night events.

  • Ability to assist in tracking inventory and processing donation requests.

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more to assist in event setups and promotions.

To qualify for Kings University internships, you must be:

  • Currently enrolled in college or have graduated within 12 months

  • Able to commute to the Stockton office

  • Able to work 25 hours per week

Interns will be compensated $16.00 per hour and receive benefits such as California Paid Sick Leave, discounts on Sacramento Kings merchandise, and free parking.
