Government Affairs Coordinator
Job Purpose:
This role will directly assist the Vice President, Government Affairs in several capacities with a focus on government and
public affairs, DE&I, and sustainability initiatives. The Government Affairs department is responsible for
Primary (Essential) Duties:
- Assist with Legislative Duties, to include:
- Research, monitor, and track bills through the legislative process.
- Take notes during committee hearings, caucuses, and floor sessions.
- Communicate effectively and build relationships with legislative offices to schedule meetings and events.
- Provide research on a range of topics relevant to stadium, taxes, and other important legislation.
- Work with retained team of lobbyists when necessary.
- Assist with City and County Government Affairs:
- Monitor City Council and County Board agendas.
- Research any relevant proposals at the City Council or County Board.
- Accompany VP, Government Affairs to meetings with elected City and County officials and staff, as necessary.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and events for City or County elected officials and staff.
- Assist VP, Government Affairs with management of the Team Player Resource Groups (TPRG’s), to include:
- Manage schedule of (TPRG) events and assist TPRG leaders with planning and scheduling events.
- Attend TPRG events when necessary.
- Assist VP, Government Affairs with management of sustainability initiatives to include:
- Research our partners to identify common sustainability goals.
- Help to brainstorm and implement new sustainability initiatives.
- Work with the communications team to elevate our sustainability initiatives in the public.
- Research sustainability initiatives for a renovated ballpark.

- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently to develop projects and produce desired results.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic and excellent follow-through.
- Be able to handle time-sensitive requests/changes, in a fast-paced high-pressure situations.
- Exhibit strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- A flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience/Education Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in political science, business, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced business environment, preferably in Government, Government Affairs, or a related industry.
- Proficient in computer skills (knowledge in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
