The Arizona Diamondbacks are seeking candidates who are passionate about mental performance and empowering individuals to be the best versions of themselves in all facets of life, both on and off the field.
This is a paid entry-level internship that will provide valuable support services to the Mental Performance Department while assisting with various tasks and responsibilities.
Logistics:
Timing (between January and October) and length (can range between 8-12 weeks) of these positions are flexible based on applicant availability and department needs.
Non-local applicants are responsible for housing, relocation, and transportation expenses.
Responsibilities & Opportunities:
Assisting with production of mental performance materials and content for players.
Assisting with and supporting the delivery of educational sessions for various groups.
Facilitating guided mental practice sessions (e.g. meditation) for players and staff.
Shadowing full-time mental performance staff in both delivery and observation settings.
Collaborating with staff across departments including the Sports Medicine and Performance Team (SMPT), player development (e.g. coaches, R&D), and amateur scouting.
Engage in other relevant player and staff support activities as needed and requested by the mental performance and medical staff.

Additional Preferences:
Qualified candidates will possess or be actively enrolled in a Masters or PhD in Sport Psychology or a related field
Experience observing and/or participating in mental skills services delivery
1+ years of related experience (e.g. coaching, teaching) in working with athletes and teams
Demonstrated interest in the field of sport psychology and working in baseball
Willingness to be a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks Organization and the Mental Performance Department, functioning within its policies and procedures
Desire to grow and develop as a practitioner of applied sport psychology
Adherence to the codes of ethics of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP)
