Summary:
As a member of the Arizona Cardinals Nutrition Services Department, the Porter is responsible to assist with the overall meal service operation of team and corporate meals during all phases of the year. Reporting directly to the Team Nutrition Manager and Team Dietitian completing duties as assigned and including, but not limited to the following descriptions.
Primary Job Duties:
- Works cooperatively to execute the high standards of Arizona Cardinals meal services
- Provides relevant feedback from personnel for menu planning
- Regularly stocks disposables, grab-n-go snacks, packaged/dry goods, condiments, NA beverages, Gatorade, Dasani, condiments, dry goods, and packaged goods
- Communicate ordering needs to BOH & FOH; track inventory for items listed above
- Assists in the preparation of grab-n-go fruit and various items
- Quantity Control: communicates with back of house on productions needs and excess/leftovers
- Responsible for set-up, flow and breakdown of services and action station (omelet, pasta, etc.) within shift, communicates station prep PARS with BOH
- Follow procedures for serving food, as well as rotating and storing food within coolers, freezers, dry storage, etc. utilizing a FIFO-approach (including labeling, dating, rotating, and screening products to meet food safety and organizational standards.)
- Adhere to guidelines for discarding or returning products that do not meet organizational standards
- Stocks and organizes fueling station; makes custom shakes for players as needed
- Participate in off-season field trips, culinary workshops, nutrition education series and deep cleaning/organizing projects independently
- Maintain an A grade level cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment
- Report equipment malfunctions, food safety concerns or violations to superiors
- Participate in the execution of training camp meal service at off-site locations
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED, food service background required; equivalent work experience may be substituted as appropriate
- Experience: Experienced in hospitality environment preferred with knowledge in food service operations
- Knowledgeable in functionality of WhenIWork
- Maintains work uniform and personal hygiene to department standards
- Familiar with proper holding temperatures, TCS foods, and time-temperature control policies
- Understands the importance of team work and adherence to department guidelines
- Ability to respectfully communicate questions, suggestions or ideas to supervisors
- Outgoing, goal oriented and high energy; demonstrate a growth mindset and learning attitude
- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
- Required to work team events on weekends and off-site when necessary
- Up-to-date with all required certifications including a food handlers card; ServSafe certified required within year of employment
- Respectfully handles confidential information and maintains a professional attitude around professional athletes in their work environment
Position Information: The Porter will handle the front line operations under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager and the Culinary Assistant. This position will have the expectation to perform at the high standard of the Arizona Cardinals. The performance of this position will have a direct impact on the team on-field performance and success. The job will include walking and/or standing for long periods of time as well as lifting food deliveries and equipment up to 50 lbs, working with knives and participating in set-up of training camp kitchen.
