Manager, Corporate Communications

The Manager, Corporate Communications primary role will be to assist with managing and implementing a communications strategy to achieve brand, business, and marketing objectives across internal, business, marketing and executive communications. The position will also be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations for the corporate communications department.

Role Responsibilities:
路 Compose press releases and media advisories as well as media pitches and spokesperson talking points.

路 Help pitch and secure regular coverage in trade, regional and national outlets

路 Support onsite media needs at events and on game days (as relevant)

路 Monitor team news across traditional and social media to understand and flag relevant trends and updates.

路 Maintain and build media lists.

路 Serve as liaison to sponsorships/partnerships, promoting partnerships

路 Project manage league wide Community Relations/Social Responsibility programming and team announcements across internal teams (marketing, digital content, PR, CR)

路 Serve as partner to community relations team, promoting the work of the charitable foundation and other corporate giving

路 Work directly with broadcast teams on inclusions of team news on game days

路 Track and help fulfill inbound media and spokesperson requests

路 Prepare interview and event briefs for spokespersons.

路 Execute general communications support tasks and special projects.

路 Perform administrative duties as assigned

路 Drive internal comms initiatives, to include newsletters, staff updates, internal memos

Role Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Capabilities):

路 College graduate with degree in journalism, communications, public relations or similar discipline

路 Strong writing, interpersonal and editorial skills

路 Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines

路 Highly organized, with attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly

路 Candidates should be prepared for both on-site and virtual work

路 Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

路 Sports and/or agency experience preferred
