Department: Venue Operations

Reports to: General Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Box Office works closely with the General Manager on the development and implementation of departmental strategic plans and supports the tactical and operational plans for the organization. This role will also implement and oversee the development and execution of all of the ticket manifests for all concerts, events and hockey operations occurring in the venue

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute product sales plan to include full season, partial season, group tickets, Membership, and single game suites
  • Respond to ticket inquiries and/or general inquiries and service accordingly; returns calls in a timely manner in resolution to issues 
  • Manage client requests, expectations and assist with any game day requirements related to these requests 
  • Liaison with TicketMaster to ensure consistent operation of ticketing software and hardware
  • Create scaling maps and verify venue capacities based on CAD drawings provided
  • Run a variety of TM reports prior to event day and then updated reports on event day after the box office closes. Be prepared to answer questions based on the reports
  • Work with internal team to build CRM tracking, data collection, and analytics that will assist in improving member retention, communications, and program development
  • Actively seek industry best practices and provide recommendations
  • Manages the daily activities of the Box Office Coordinator to complete season seat manifest and unique ticket promotions throughout the season
  • Recruit, train and coach front line staff to provide best in class service
  • Works closely with Director of Ticket Sales on supporting sales goals and retention plansof the organization
  • Provide support during game nights, special events and promotions, as required 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sports management or a related field
  • At least two years of increasingly responsible Box Office/ticketing experience, preferably within a similar facility
  • Working knowledge of Ticketmaster ticketing software
  • An understanding of ticketing systems, preferably Ticketmaster Classic Host and Archtics, and knowledge of transacting and reporting on a ticketing system, reviewing event set-ups and manifests, and managing inventory requirements, special offers, and ticket programs
  • Strong working knowledge of microsoft excel
  • Excellent management, leadership, and coaching skills
  • A sound business understanding with previous budgeting, forecasting, and planning experience
  • Committed to ensuring superior customer service, with the ability to build rapport with customers and quickly assess their needs 
  • Committed to working in a team driven, high energy environment
  • Excellent people and communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients at all levels
