Pay Range

Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, People Experience, the HR Assistant is responsible for providing reliable administrative support in all areas of the Human Resources department.

In this exciting role, the HR Assistant will dive into recruitment, helping to attract and select top talent, and facilitate employee onboarding, ensuring every new hire feels welcomed and prepared. The HR Assistant will also maintain accurate employee records, contributing to a seamless HR experience that empowers our workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with job requisitions in applicant tracking systems including opening and updating new job requisitions, and ensuring all job postings are up to date.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and applicant screenings.
  • Travel to and attend job fairs and career events on behalf of the Human Resources department across the Bay Area
  • Create and maintain employee files.
  • Provide administrative support to special events such as new employee orientation and other staff programming.
  • Process employee transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and other people-related items in HRIS (SuccessFactors).
  • Ensure data integrity and maintenance of all records across all people systems, including conducting regular audits.
  • Assist the assigning trainings and tracking compliance.
  • Process various invoices in accounts payable system related to people operations.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Previous professional experience or internship in human resources preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Spanish speaking a major plus.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others at all levels of the organization while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects of varying priority and to assure deadlines are met while maintaining company standards.
  • Working knowledge of basic Federal and California employment laws, and Union regulations preferred.
  • Ability to contribute a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to travel to and from various company locations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • A positive, team-oriented work ethic, with a high level of integrity is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to utilize a computer for extended periods of time, communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15lbs with or without accommodation.
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays.
  • May be required to travel to other company locations.
  • May be required to attend conference and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
