About the Position:

The San Jose Earthquakes are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR professional to join our team as an HR Generalist. This role requires someone passionate about creating positive employee experiences, managing a range of HR functions from recruitment to onboarding and compliance. The HR Generalist will collaborate across departments, act as a trusted partner to both employees and leadership, and ensure smooth HR operations. This individual will report to the Vice President of Human Resources and be an integral partner in upholding the organization's HR strategies and policies.

Responsibilities:

· Recruitment & Onboarding:

o Co-Manage the Quakes University internship program. This includes managing the full recruitment cycle, onboarding, offboarding, timecard management, and mentorship of Quakes University participants.

o Lead the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth experience for all new hires, from background checks and I-9 verification to orientation.

o Assist with job postings and job description creation for other front office departments as needed.

  • HR Administration & Operations:
    • Oversee HR administrative functions, maintaining accurate employee records in the HRIS system, and ensuring compliance with all appropriate policies.
    • Support employee recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and organize staff events.
    • Act as a general resource for HR queries from employees and managers, providing support on policies, procedures, and HR initiatives.
  • Payroll Support:
    • Serve as backup for payroll processing, ensuring accurate timekeeping and compliance with payroll procedures, and coordinate with the finance team to resolve any issues.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources to support the organization’s HR strategies and initiatives.

Additional Skills & Abilities Needed:

  • Proven ability to manage HR functions with a focus on onboarding, offboarding, and recruitment.
  • Experience with maintaining HRIS systems and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR technologies.
  • Experience in recruitment and managing employee programs.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR roles with experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS system management.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.

Annual salary - $60,000 - $70,000
