Job Summary: The Sacramento Kings are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to offer essential day-to-day managerial support for the merchandise operations of the Sacramento Kings team retail store. As an Assistant Manager, you will be instrumental in reaching sales objectives, delivering outstanding customer service, and guiding a team of dedicated Retail Associates. Flexibility is key in this role, as availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required, contingent on department scheduling needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed store sales goals.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels through regular monitoring and timely ordering.
  • Lead and motivate a team of retail associates, fostering a culture of excellent customer service and achieving sales targets.
  • Monitor sales trends and customer traffic, identifying opportunities to enhance store operations.
  • Ensure the store is consistently well-maintained, clean, and organized.
  • Collaborate with the fulfillment and logistics team to ensure proper stocking and adherence to brand standards.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, ensuring accurate processing of all transactions.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote the store through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and local events.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably in a sports merchandise environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills, coupled with effective communication abilities for interactions with both customers and employees.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with retail point-of-sale systems.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends, as required by department scheduling needs.
  • Passion for the NBA and sports merchandise.


The salary for this full-time, exempt position is $66,560. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
