The Jr. Kings program is where the Sacramento Kings organization invites kids to experience the love of basketball firsthand. It’s not just about bounce passes and lay ups, it’s about making the excitement and resources of the NBA accessible to kids in a way no other youth basketball program can. Whether at a one-day clinic, multi-day camp, or an ongoing league, when kids join Jr. Kings, they’re part of the team.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Understand and believe in the mission of Jr. Kings program
- Serve as a role model and mentor for participants
- Encourage and motivate all participants
- Assist the head and assistant coaches with games and lessons
- Participate in games and workouts with the players, encouraging them to put their best effort into the workout
- Provide one‐on‐one attention to the participants
Job Qualifications:
- Basketball experience of either having played basketball at or above the collegiate level or be a coach at or above the high school level.
- Deep understanding and development of various levels of youth basketball.
- Detailed understanding, skills, and ability to implement all aspects of youth basketball clinics, camps, and tournament.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, stand or walk for 4-5 hours.
- Ability to exhibit good judgment and maintain appropriate behavior with clientele.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions to include extreme heat, cold and rain for an extended amount of time.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must submit and pass a background check.
Compensation:
- $18/hourly rate
- $35/hourly rate on clinic days
