All-Star Week Intern Overview
Major League Baseball and the Atlanta Braves will host the 95th MLB All-Star Game in July. The All-Star Week Intern will assist in overseeing the All-Star Week Experience Team Program, which includes managing approximately 500 team members supporting various events throughout the week. Interns will be expected to work a full 5-day work week, with extended hours and occasional weekends as needed. This position will run from May to July 2025.
All-Star Week Intern Job Description:
Pre-Event Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain database and manage and operate the Management System
- Monitor workforce registration through the Management System
- Responsible for the development and set up of all the staffing opportunities and description in the Management System for registration and scheduling.
- Respond to all email and phone call inquiries and questions regarding staffing roles
- Serve as the main day-to-day contact with all staff
Staffing Selection & Scheduling
- Work with All-Star Week Coordinators to organize the virtual informational meeting including logistics, staffing, and screening process
- Prepare an online information session
- Will work on the Management System to do all the communications and scheduling for the Experience Team opportunities
- Prepare and print out all schedules and descriptions
- Prepare packets for orientation sessions
Event Responsibilities
- Work with All-Star Week Coordinators to organize the orientation-including logistics, staffing etc.
- Work at headquarters (All-Star Village) to assist with scheduling changes and any assistance on staffing needs
- Prepare staffing lists for each assignment for each day
- Manager Management System during All-Star Week
Post Event Responsibilities
- Compile all files and send them to MLB for reference for the following year
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a minimum two years in an accredited four-year college degree program or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Degree in Sports Administration and/or Event Management strongly preferred
- Must be available to work a 5-day work week (including extended hours a few weekends as needed) for the duration of this assignment
- Prior experience as a Sports Event volunteer/organizer is preferred
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, verbal and written communications, organization skills and extreme attention to detail
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and respond to strict deadlines
- Strong Computer Skills -- expert in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- The successful candidate must be able to work the entire show schedule
