SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in attaining the goal of a world-class training facility. This is a full-time hourly position with the experience required. The RSL Training Center Complex must be well maintained and fully functional for all players and visitors. This position is responsible for the general building maintenance for the training facility, offices, stadium, and dormitory - including maintaining, repairing, and servicing all public & private areas for the benefit of all facility users.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Inspect all ZBRA facilities (building, stadium, and academy housing) to determine functional systems, detect malfunctions, and conduct general maintenance including, but not limited to:
    • Drywall and/or painting needs
    • Minor electrical / lighting needs
    • General carpentry, plumbing, building repair needs
    • Pool / Hot Tub maintenance and repair needs
  • Assist with vendors as needed
  • Assist with sourcing bids and hiring outside vendors to make major repairs and ensure all work is completed
  • Participate in planning long & short-term facilities objectives
  • Responsible for regular and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment to promote extended life of critical operational equipment.
    • Complete regular and preventive maintenance logs
  • Ability to understand instructions and concepts in 3-D in order to help on construction projects
  • Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude to learn skills and general equipment necessary to maintain and repair the facilities and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Thrive as a team player. Show good judgment, discretion, trustworthiness, and integrity
  • Awareness to maintain a safe work environment and initiative to resolve unsafe working conditions
  • The Technician must have a solid skill level with the ability to use good judgment and prioritize his/her workload
  • Ability to take immediate action and troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve most issues that arise
  • Occasional set-up and tear-down of events
    • Tables, chairs, field boards, etc.
  • Adhere to and promote all safety protocols
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or GED required
  • Three plus years of general construction and/or facilities maintenance experience
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must have the ability to complete tasks independently with no supervision with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to maintain workload, organize, schedule and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Display common sense approach to difficult or stressful situation
  • Possess the strength and endurance to perform physical demands of essential job functions with or without accommodation
  • Possess a high-energy work ethic, self-initiative, attention to detail and a positive attitude
  • General office computer skills - word and excel and ability to learn work management planning software
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, balancing, crawling and reaching
  • Must be comfortable and able to work on ladders at heights up to 25 ft.
  • Must be comfortable on and able to operate a 40’ scissor lift and a forklift
  • Occasional weekend & evening work is required during events throughout the year
  • Overall work environment includes exposure to wet and cold conditions, heat, and various weather conditions
  • Noise level is usually moderate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Trade Certificates or relevant post-secondary degree or coursework preferred
  • Must have some knowledge of generators, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm systems, elevators, and electrical systems is preferred
  • Proficiency in Spanish (bilingual) is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 100 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, etc.
