The Director of Business Development will identify, qualify and sell corporate sponsorships to local, regional or national businesses for Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, and Real Monarchs. After closing new business, must maintain positive relationships with all assigned accounts, provide excellence in customer service and endeavor to renew the partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Achieves sales goals by researching, identifying, and prospecting companies that qualify as potential clients.
  • Designs and develops marketing sales strategies to deliver to clients.
  • Maintains positive relationships with sponsors to ensure programs are mutually beneficial and successful.
  • Collaborates with Partnership Marketing team to ensure client’s contracts are fulfilled.
  • Work with existing clients to renew partnership contracts prior to contract expiration.
  • Work closely with Corporate Partnership Service Team from Discovery meeting with prospects, to contact signing and hand-off.
  • Reviews accounts receivables to ensure accounts are no more than 60 days past due.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and spoken.
  • Skilled in establishing and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Ability to set and accomplish aggressive sales goals.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the team’s schedule.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus three (3) years of relevant experience prospecting and generating sales in a sports environment

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 25 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, etc.
