POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Analytics (BA) strategic plan includes maximizing the value of owned and acquired data as a business asset that enables measurable and positive financial returns while combining operational business data to form powerful insights that support decision-making at all levels of the organization. This position is responsible for enhancing and leveraging the extensive business data amassed by the BA team to contribute to this effort. Expanding BA’s reach by collaborating with cross-functional business teams to support data-driven decision-making will be a top priority.

A qualified candidate will have the keen ability to prioritize tasks and exercise problem solving aptitude in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using data to drive revenue, solve business challenges, and optimize business outcomes will be key aspects of this role.
  • Perform advanced data analysis on large datasets to prescribe data driven actions relative to business operations.
  • Work closely with the BA team to enhance existing data integrations, analysis, and business data models.
  • Assist in expanding the real-time Business Data Warehouse to facilitate a multitude of analytical views that span the landscape of the business.
  • Assist in the operational aspect of supporting BA functions during Phillies events.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced Degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R is a requirement.
  • Develop an understanding of the business of baseball and how to integrate data in that context.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and a strong background in Business Intelligence tools.
  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment and work cross-functionally both inside and outside the department.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with data modeling.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, SAP, and Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise sound decision-making skills.
  • Ability to mentor and teach other staff members.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed.
