About the role
We’re looking for an individual to join our Academy Sports Science and Medicine team where you will provide nutrition support to all Foundation Phase (FP) & Youth Development Phase (YDP) Newcastle United Academy players and assist where necessary to provide nutrition support to Professional Development Phase (PDP) Newcastle United Academy Players.
You will design and implement nutrition strategies for FP & YDP players that align to the elite player performance pathway (EPPP) and Academy nutrition framework, maximising physical attributes (speed, stamina, strength, recovery, and body composition).
Your impact
You will have experience providing Nutrition support to elite youth athletes and coaching staff with proven ability to positively impact development & performance.
It is essential that you hold, BSc in Sports Science or related discipline, Safeguarding Certificate and ISAK Level 1 or the ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
You will also hold SENr Practitioner Accreditation, or the ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
Although not essential, possession of a post graduate qualification (or equivalent) in Sport & Exercise Nutrition with SENr accreditation; as would knowledge and understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan and associated audit process.
About the team
Joining our Academy team, you will report to our Head of Academy Sports Science & Medicine, Academy Nutritionist. Working closely with our current Academy Nutritionist, you will work collaboratively with the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team to support the development of FP and YDP players as part of the 6–12-week development review process.
