Summary:
The Mental Performance Coordinator will support the development and implementation of the New York Mets’ Mental Performance Program based out the Player Development Complex in Port St. Lucie, FL and at various affiliate locations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Master’s degree or advanced degree in a related psychology field.
Currently have or are working towards AASP CMPC.
Being willing to relocate and based at player development complex in Port St. Lucie, Fl
3+ years of mental performance coaching experience at an elite level of athletics or with tactical populations.
Ability to travel, work long hours, and be outside in all weather.
Ability to speak Spanish fluently is a plus.
Knowledge of and familiarity with baseball is a plus.
Qualifications:
Be part of the strategic development and application of systems to improve mental performance throughout the organization. Accomplished through observation, collaboration, research, and the implementation of new techniques and technology.
Support the development and execution of our off-season camps and spring training programming.
Assist with the development of the mental performance team members coaching abilities.
Monitor the development of individual mental performance routines and their application to performance.
Educate and present on mental skills topics to players, coaches, and staff in group and individual settings.
Collaborate with the Player Development and Performance Department Staff (Strength and Conditioning, Position Coaches, etc.) to create optimal strategies for enhancing player performance and development.
Develop monthly reports (observations, reflections, recommendations, etc.) to the Mental Performance Director.
Manage new pilots and initiatives with new technologies or products to enhance our programming.
Collaborate with the entire Mental Performance Staff to aid and assist in various projects, create presentations, and support players.
Maintain up to date knowledge of theories and practices in the field of Sport Psychology.

Salary Range: $87,214 to $116,286
