Job Description:

Summary:

We are seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic individual to represent our brand as our Mascot. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for entertainment and a knack for engaging and interacting with fans of all ages. The Mascot will attend various events, both on and off-site, to promote our brand and create a fun and dynamic environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Mr. & Mrs. Met on all Key Responsibilities.

  • Coordinate the appearances of Mr. & Mrs. Met at a variety of events, including games, community outreach initiatives, promotional events, and other scheduled appearances.

  • Oversee the mascot team, ensuring efficient in-game operations, adherence to appearance protocols, and the development of profitable new projects that align with the company's goals.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive brand guidelines for Mr. & Mrs. Met, outlining their unique personality traits, backstory, and performance expectations, along with a clear set of performance dos and don'ts.

    • Create and execute mascot-related content for social media, in-game events, and other media outlets (i.e. engaging skits, routines, and promotional strategies).

  • Manage department budgets, ensuring all financial activities align with company standards and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

  • Foster a collaborative environment by coordinating with other performers and handlers, ensuring a seamless and entertaining performance at every event.

  • Engage with fans and event attendees in a manner that is professional, respectful, and exudes the energy and enthusiasm the New York Mets are known for.

  • Oversee the maintenance of the Mascot costumes, ensuring they are regularly cleaned and repaired as necessary.

  • Conduct and attend all Mascot training sessions and rehearsals, upholding the highest standards of performance and professionalism.

  • Plan, Sell, and Execute the newly created “Mascot Fantasy Camp.”

  • Manage the Met Mobile, ensuring it is maintained, cleaned regularly, and has all necessary permits and registrations to be on the road safely.

  • Maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of the New York Mets at all times.

  • Ensure the safety and integrity of the performers and costumes at all times.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Mascot or in a similar role.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding activities, including dancing and performing in a costume for extended periods.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with using technology for communication and administrative tasks.

  • Experience in office administration, including handling emails, scheduling, and coordinating events in a professional manner.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting and editing office correspondence.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with fans of all ages.

  • Unwavering commitment to professionalism and sportsmanship.

  • Flexible schedule, with availability for evening, weekend, and holiday games and events.

  • Reliable transportation

  • Dance and Performing Arts background a plus

Expectations – Weekly office vs mascot hours will be planned at the beginning of each month weighing office time vs performance time.

May change based on season, performance, and game day schedules.

  • Average of 20-25 Administrative hours per week – in office.

  • Average of 6-24 Performance hours per week.

  • Candidates must be able to audition the evening of May 15th.
