Our Game Plan

The Bridgeport Islanders are in search of a Fan Experience and Retail Assistant to join the Game Presentation Department and enhance the overall fan experience and manage the Bridgeport Islanders merchandise. You will have the opportunity to work alongside full-time staff in the planning of gamedays, grow as a leader and gain experience in live sports entertainment.

How to Make the Team

The Fan Experience and Retail Assistant will assist in the planning and execution of all gamedays at the Bridgeport Islanders. With two separate focal points in both Fan Experience and Retail. This role reports directly to the Game Presentation Manager.

Fan Experience

This position will create exciting ways to enhance each gameday and ensure each fan leaves with a memorable experience. This individual will co-ordinate all concourse activity, from giveaways, activations, tabling and any pre-game events held at the arena. This includes the outreach to vendors, planning and set up of events and execution of each asset on the concourse. It is important the role is filled with an individual who can lead a team of people while multitasking various duties at once.


This role also oversees the Bridgeport Islanders Team Store, connecting directly with the Isles Lab staff, additionally, they will manage inventory, set up, ordering and sales of the store. This position will work alongside our Graphic Designer to create innovative items that can be promoted in our store. They will also plan promotional night items to ensure there are new items for fans to purchase over the season.

  • Lead the planning and execution of live events.
  • Organize the set up and breakdown of each event including all tabling, activations and the team store.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Strong ability to receive direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident in leading a team of staff during a live sporting event.
  • Familiarity with sales preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility with your schedule and available to work all Bridgeport Islanders home regular season games.

  • A motivated self-starter with a “no-task-too-small attitude”.

Where You’ll Go

  • Preseason: Report to the Bridgeport Islanders office for 20 hours per week. 2 rehearsals and various local events.
  • During the season: Bridgeport Islanders office for 20 hours per week and for all gamedays.
  • Part-Time, 20 hours in office per week plus gamedays.
