Gorup Summary:
NBA Social Responsibility drives change on the most pressing social issues facing our fans and communities by advancing proven resources and partners. Working in collaboration with internal departments, business partners, players and teams, the NBA SR group plans, executes & measures priority social impact campaigns, global partnership activations, and marquee events.


Job Summary:

The Social Responsibility Program Coordinator will assist in the planning, coordination, and promotion of the NBA's Social Responsibility departmental efforts. They will be responsible for leading various business partnerships, campaigns and programming, and will support strategic one-off projects. This position will be located in the New York office but include business travel domestically and internationally based on business needs.


Major Responsibilities

  • Social Impact Event Management:
    • Assist with the planning, communication, and implementation of NBA/WNBA social impact marquee events efforts including drafting planning materials, coordinating meetings, managing events from start-to-finish inclusive of all prep (ordering signage, t-shirts) focused on ensuring an exceptional and hospitable attendee experience.
    • Prepare documents for community-based event planning such as event runs of show, key messages, suggested social media copy and emcee scripts.
  • Business Development Support:
    • Manage social impact business partnerships, including tracking new and existing marketing and licensee partner conversations and contractual deliverables with an eye towards open inventory opportunities that help drive business and impact priorities.
    • Manage relationships with NBA community partners and support the research and vetting of potential non-profit partners.
  • Department Operations:
    • Coordinate organizational logistics for the NBA Social Responsibility department, including managing department orders and supplies, maintaining the social responsibility calendar, coordinating donations and inventory, onboarding new vendors and scheduling meetings.
    • Manage vendor and partner relationships, support the creation of contracts and manage budgets, all while meeting strict deadlines.
    • Support department operations, including managing department expenses, while keeping an eye towards utilization and implementation of tech tools that allow for seamless information tracking and sharing.
    • Communicate key issues internally via status update reports and meeting updates while proactively recommending solutions.
    • Support and execute situational programs, duties and activations as they arise.
    • Lead culture efforts for the Social Responsibility group inclusive of celebrations and achievements.

Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-4 years working in social impact - preferably within a marketing agency, sports organization (e.g. – professional team or league) and/or non-profit.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
