Position Summary
This new position will join a team whose impact spans multiple departments, working on all matters related to player health. We are seeking an individual whose contributions will improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiencies on administrative tasks related to player health initiatives, which will include database management and team communication.

Major Responsibilities

  • Supporting ongoing implementation of the Player Participation Policy by coordinating with Player Health group leadership and consulting team physicians on review of records and participation chronologies for the league and consulting physicians
  • Supporting ongoing implementation of day-to-day operations related to the Player Participation Policy by managing documentation of injuries and participation statuses for star players and creating internal briefing materials
  • Assisting in NBA Draft Combine medical operations by coordinating physician/player intake calls, working with universities on records management, providing on the ground operational support at the event, and coordinating post-Combine follow ups with players and agents;
  • Supporting review of cardiac screenings for NBA and affiliate leagues by tracking and insuring completeness of reviews, coordinating with relevant cardiologists and other providers, and liaising with team health and performance staff
  • Assisting the player health group in the overall management and administration of NBA player health systems, particularly the NBA electronic medical records system, and other systems that contribute to NBA player participation and injury reporting and analyses.
  • Supporting communications and presentations to team personnel and NBA leadership related to player health initiatives and systems

Required Education/Skills

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree required (BA/BS)
  • Experience: 2+ years working with health and performance data in a sports setting. 2+ years handling confidential health records in a non-sports healthcare setting.

    • Adaptability โ€“ Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures;
    • Character โ€“ Maintaining a strong commitment to organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in drafting documents/spreadsheets and creating dynamic presentations using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) required; familiarity with other technical software platforms and systems would be an advantage

Salary Range: $77,500 - $90,000
