KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the wellbeing and readiness to train of the first team squad
  • Deliver massage therapies to players pre and post matches and training sessions
  • Provide massage therapy as a recovery strategy for players
  • Provide manual therapy to injured players in collaboration with physiotherapy staff
  • Collaborate with other medical team members to ensure a holistic approach to injury treatment and prevention.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all treatments provided
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of applied techniques.
  • Participate in the team’s internal continuing professional development.
  • Joint responsibility to maintain an elite environment at all times
  • Joint responsibility to ensure clean and tidy work spaces and medical room
  • Attend matches and act as a match day massage therapist both home and away as required
  • Duties for matches to include but limited to player preparation strategies, transportation of equipment and ensuring a clean, tidy and elite environment
  • Provide support to the medical team in the team hotel pre-match.
  • Uphold and promote the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.
  • Abide by all rules and requirements as set out and communicated by the club, this includes following the rules of the “Club Handbook”.
  • Follow any reasonable requests by your line manager or Head of Medical Services to support the wider team.

MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Expertise in understanding and delivering massage therapy.
  • Consistently set and maintain high standards of work performance and deliver quality efficiently.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, databases, presentation software, and internet use.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for football and a commitment to player health and performance.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel with the team as required.
  • Be an ambassador for Luton Town Football Club presenting the club in a positive image at all times.

Education/Qualifications/Training:

Essential

  • Minimum Level 4 Sports Massage
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience working with elite-level athletes.
  • Experience managing/assisting with sports injuries.

Additional Information:

  • This a Full-Time role
  • Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
