JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Community and Hockey Development Coordinator will be responsible for completing the daily tasks associated with community programs in schools and community organizations including Royal Readers, Future Goals and Ball Hockey. This role is responsible for ensuring program quality, overseeing equipment distribution initiatives, assisting coaches and training, and assisting partners with program/league execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Community & Hockey Development:

  • Deliver LA Kings sponsored community programs in schools and community organizations including Royal Readers, Future Goals and Ball Hockey.
  • Assist in developing program materials such as informational flyers, pamphlets, videos, etc. in conjunction with senior leaders of department and marketing.
  • Foster relationships with community partners and schools to ensure continuous growth of external programs.
  • Participate in planning meetings, attend off-site events and conduct regular visits to Kings partners.
  • Assist with growing the database of subscribers for Ball Hockey and other Ice Hockey initiatives.
  • Assist with execution of ticket initiatives for program participants.
  • Coordinate donation-drives tied to Heritage and Community theme-night initiatives.

Ball Hockey:

  • End to end implementation of LA Kings Ball Hockey leagues and clinics both internal and external.
  • Develop new ball hockey events, programs and next step programming.
  • Define and implement program best practices. Assist with training staff and refining curriculum to ensure consistent and high-quality results. Conduct quality control site visits to ensure program meets standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of department to strategically integrate Ball Hockey with other community and hockey initiatives including: We Are All Kings Pathway Little Kings Learn to Play and Future Goals.
  • Coordinate ball hockey tournaments and tournament series for both adult and youth hockey.

Hockey Programming:

  • Assist with execution of We Are All Kings Hockey Pathway events and programming including skates, camps and community events.
  • Work collaboratively with the department to organize programming and activations within the Special Needs Hockey community.
    • Aid in the growth and awareness of the programs. Create a direct relationship with the LA Kings Community and Hockey Development Department by hosting Kings supported events.
  • Host community ā€œgarage salesā€ for donated hockey gear.
  • Help execute Community non-revenue generating LA Kings Camps and Clinics. Build out of registration pages, reserve ice, staff LA Kings Ice Crew ā€“ Hockey Development, order equipment/jerseys, and assist with on and off-ice instruction and logistics.

Education Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year)

Experience Qualifications

  • 2-4 years Related work experience
  • Experience in project management and client account management a must.
  • Experience in playing the sport of hockey a plus.
  • Experience in the sports and entertainment industry preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook a must.
  • Required to work assigned office hours, select game nights, league events, select league games, and select organizational/departmental events.

Pay Scale: $20.15-$25.00
