SUMMARY

The Maintenance Engineer is part of the Central Plant Engineering team, and their primary role is to maintain and repair the various systems at the Pacers Sports & Entertainment campus, which includes Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Ascension St Vincent Center and the Bicentennial Unity Plaza. This position will focus on painting and dry wall repair throughout the campus but will also assist the members of the team with other general maintenance duties. The successful individual must have extensive painting experience and also a working knowledge of mechanical systems and carpentry skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Painting throughout the campus, including wall repair.
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractors for special projects that involve surface impacts - painting, graphics, signage and the like.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance of equipment throughout all buildings.
  • Change lights and ballast.
  • Change filters, grease motors, and replace belts on HVAC equipment.
  • Assist with repair of plumbing fixtures as needed.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on restaurant equipment, with training and guidance.
  • Repair and replace seats as needed.
  • Remove snow around building.
  • Conduct regular inspections of Central Plant areas to maintain organization and cleanliness.
  • Regularly circulate through the campus buildings to monitor the condition of restrooms, plumbing, escalators, elevators and lights and assist with problem resolution.
  • Assist in performing miscellaneous maintenance-related tasks as assigned.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must have extensive painting experience (minimum 5 years) and a basic working knowledge of mechanical systems and carpentry skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic computer skills are mandatory and at a minimum the employee should be familiar with the MS Office suite of products - especially Word, Excel and Outlook.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, instructions and reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills are required, including the ability to use and read rulers and other measuring devices, interpret technical diagrams and reports and read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret directions.

PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS

Employee must have the ability to learn, be trained and understand the basics of mechanical repairs so that they can assist the other team members with repairs. The employee should also be able to make independent assessments of needs related to painting, wall repair and other general maintenance.
