The Detroit Tigers are looking for a motivated, energetic, and dedicated individual to serve as a Lakeland Flying Tigers Bat Person in Lakeland, FL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and organize dugout prior to game including bats, helmets, coolers, etc.
  • Retrieve bats, balls and other equipment from playing field during games
  • Provide umpire with game balls/water when requested
  • Break down dugout, along with putting away all equipment used during game
  • Cleaning shoes/cleats
  • Equipment load-in/load-out
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiar with the rules of baseball
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as team schedules require
  • Willingness to learn with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to take direction and give direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19- Please note, as a condition of employment, COVID-19 vaccination (at least the initiation of the process) is required prior to start date. Accommodations for medical or religious reasons will be considered


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat and rain
  • Ability to walk/run
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds
